When you select the option to create a new document version:

A link is created between the new and the old document

When you try to open a document that is outdated, a selection window will appear:

Selected Document – takes you to the document you are trying to open.

Current Document – takes you to the current document linked to the one you are trying to open.

If none of the related documents are active, the following window appears:

Selected Document – takes you to the document you are trying to open.

Choose Documents – opens a list of all related documents, from which you can navigate to one of them.

Additionally, the document contains a tab with the document history.
